Acrylic Paint Sealer [ The Best Out There]

Acrylic Paint Sealer

Using an Acrylic Paint Sealer is simple and cheap to do and is very effective. Sealing your painted concrete statue is a really good way to add protection for your painted concrete statue, use a clear enamel spray. The clear gloss spray will add a shiny coat over top over your paint and help protect your paint on the statue. Use it outside, it does have a strong smell. Here is what I use. Krylon Colormaster Crystal Clear Gloss Spray (Link will take you to Amazon) or you could use a brush on sealer like,

Rainguard International SP-9004 Ready To Use One Gallon Paint Sealer

This is a high performance modified silicone sealer that will handle several different surfaces in a variety of situations. It can be found on Amazon here, Rainguard International SP-9004 1 Gallon Premium Paint Sealer

Micro-lok Technology

This technology creates what is known as a hydrophobic barrier around the surface, which prevents it from being affected by several different weather conditions. Rain, snow, sleet, or even the sweltering summer sun won’t affect this amazing product.

Extremely Easy Clean Up

This is one of the things that really make Rainguard International SP-9004 Ready To Use One Gallon Paint Sealer so special. The formula was specifically designed to be soluble with soap and water. It doesn’t matter if you get the sealer on your face, stomach, or legs, you can simply use soap and water to remove the excess material within a matter of minutes. This makes clean up so much easier.

Low Odor And Low Voc

This sealer comes equipped with a special formula that contains a low voc and odor. The formula will not harm people, pets, or humans in any situation. Even after it was just applied it is safe to be around.

Concrete Statue Sealer Spray

Spray on sealer is the best one to use for small projects. It should be used outdoors or in a well ventilated area. It has a nasty flammable smell to it, so don’t use it near a fire or while smoking or you and your statue are going to turn black :). If you breathe in too much of the fumes, you’ll take a trip and never leave the farm, not recommended. Should only need one or 2 coats. 1 does fine for me but adding another after the first coat dries won’t hurt it.

The brush on sealers that I use is water based. Much safer to work with. Easy to clean up and no nasty smell while you are using it. I use at least 2 coats of it, 3 if it is a birdbath lid, for a little more protection.

Conclusion

Putting sealer over top your painted statue will help the paint last longer, plus it’ll give the cement piece an attractive glossy look. In the end, that’s what you want, a great looking concrete lawn ornament that will last.

Never put sealer on the bottom of your concrete statue, that way the concrete can “breath”
