Acrylic Paint For Garden Ornaments
I highly recommend acrylic paint for your garden ornaments no matter what they’re made of. I make concrete lawn ornaments and all I use is acrylic paint. This is My paint of choice, the acrylic paint made by U.S. Art Supply, you can find it on Amazon here, Acrylic Paint.
The most important part of painting a concrete statue is the base coat. I got a “how to guide” that covers the step by step process of painting concrete lawn ornaments, you can check it out here, Painting Concrete Statues There is a lot of BAD information out there on the internet about this, but follow my guide and use the paint I recommend and you’ll be fine.
Sealing Your Ornament
After you have your ornament painted, it is important to use a sealer to help protect the paint from fading and the sealer also waterproofs your garden ornaments, plus it makes it shiny. Never seal the bottom of your concrete garden ornament. The concrete has to “breath”. I also have a guide written about sealing and painting your concrete statues, you can check it out here, painting concrete statues and again if you use either of the products I recommend, your statue will last a long time.

The sealer I would recommend you can also find at a local Wal-Mart. You can also buy it from Amazon, Krylon Colormaster Crystal Clear Gloss Spray (Link will take you to Amazon)
There you have it. I suggest you check out my other “how to guides” on the site. I go into a lot more detail on painting concrete statues. Hope this helped!
